E-learning committee

Introduction to the E-Learning Committee of Parwan University
The E-Learning Committee operates under the umbrella of the Vice-Chancellorship for Academic Affairs at Parwan University. The committee is led by a head, and its membership consists of the heads of the sub-committees from the university’s ten faculties. Previously, the committee was headed by Khwaja Zakaria Siddiqi (a faculty member from the Faculty of Computer Science). Following his resignation to pursue further studies, the Academic Council of Parwan University appointed Sayed Jawad Hedayat—a lecturer in the Department of Geography—as the new head in the year 1405 SH. The members of the committee are as follows: Fazlullah Fazli (Faculty of Sharia), Sayed Habibullah Radmanesh (Faculty of Social Sciences), Ahmad Zaki Forough (Faculty of Journalism), Shafiqullah Shahir (Faculty of Law and Political Science), Jahanzeb Wisal (Faculty of Education), Sohrab Akakhil (Faculty of Agriculture), Mohammad Ali Mohammadi (Faculty of Engineering), Shoaib Taimouri (Faculty of Economics), Ahmad Rashad Behzad (Faculty of Language and Literature), Mohammad Aman Mirzaei (Faculty of Computer Science), and Ahmad Zaki Azizi (Director of Information Technology). In 1404 [Solar Hijri year], five faculty members were sent to Kabul Polytechnic University to participate in a workshop on video recording; upon completing this training, they subsequently conducted a similar workshop for 25 other faculty members at their own university. This year, three faculty members from Parwan University—*Pohnyar* [Assistant Lecturer] Sayed Jawad Hedayat (Board Head), *Namzad-Pohnyar* [Candidate Assistant Lecturer] Mohammad Aman Mirzaei (Active Member), and *Pohnwal* [Full Professor] Dr. Sayed Noor Mohammad Abedi—have been nominated to the Ministry to attend a workshop on recording educational videos. The E-Learning Committee, in collaboration with the Parwan University IT Department, has provided students with internet access in the IT computer lab, which is equipped with 30 computers for use in their coursework and research. Furthermore, all classrooms across the ten faculties are equipped with LCD screens and projectors, which faculty members utilize during instruction. The E-Learning Committee plans to facilitate online teaching for classes this year; its members have committed to coordinating with senior faculty at other Afghan universities to establish the infrastructure for online instruction. By nominating faculty members to participate in e-learning workshops organized by the Ministry of Higher Education of Afghanistan, the committee is paving the way for online education for students. It should also be noted that upon completing these workshops at the Ministry of Higher Education, the participating faculty members will, in turn, conduct the training for their colleagues at Parwan University.
